A cockpit set for a model of the F-104 Starfighter in the C and J versions, 1:48 scale. It replaces the cockpit from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-104 Starfighter is a supersonic aircraft you recognize at first glance: a long slender fuselage and, against it, an unusually small wing with sharp leading edges. The cockpit in such a fuselage is narrow and the pilot sits high in it, so with the canopy open you can see into it well. The letters C and J in the name denote the two versions of the aircraft the set is intended for.
It is an accessory cockpit set for 1:48 scale, that is, a replacement for the parts from the kit. The exact composition and which kit the set fits are given in the manufacturer's instructions; try the parts dry before gluing and only then start reworking anything. Cockpit sets usually call for thinning the inner fuselage walls so that the halves can be closed without a gap once the tub is in place.
Assemble, paint and shade the cockpit before you glue the fuselage together; afterwards you will not get inside. The parts are not polystyrene and are bonded with super glue. Cut off the surplus material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down, and wash and degrease the surface before painting.
The set is for a modeler who is building a Starfighter with the canopy open and wants a cockpit with more going on in it than the kit provides. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
