A detail cockpit set for the Grumman F-14A Tomcat carrier-based fighter in 1:48 scale from Aires. The resin accessory replaces the basic interior of a plastic kit with a faithfully detailed two-seat cockpit: the tubs of both cockpits, the instrument panels, side consoles, ejection seats and the controls.
The F-14 Tomcat was an American twin-engine two-seat carrier-based fighter with a variable-geometry wing. The crew was made up of a pilot and a weapons systems operator. The A version was the baseline form, with engines giving it both long range and the performance for defending carrier battle groups.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond with super glue. Protect your airways while sanding. The two-seat cockpit reveals the interior well, so careful painting and gentle picking out of the details are worth the effort.
