This is NOT a kit. It is a set of resin castings from Quickboost representing the retractable boarding steps on the fuselage of a model of the American carrier-based fighter Grumman F-14 Tomcat in 1:48 scale. The set covers the F-14A, B and D versions. The fine castings replace simplified plastic parts and can be shown in the extended position for a realistic look at a parked aircraft.
Extended steps, by which the crew climbed into the cockpit, give a model standing on a deck or on a ramp a lively operational look. They are small but conspicuous features that raise the credibility of the fuselage.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts and carefully cut off the thin casting blocks, because the steps are delicate. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Protect your airways while sanding. Working with tweezers is recommended.
The set is an accessory, not a model. The plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
