The 1:48 F-15D Eagle cockpit set (late v.) from the maker Aires replaces the cockpit of the two-seat version of the McDonnell Douglas F-15 fighter in 1:48 scale with a detailed resin replacement in the late version. It is a more extensive accessory to a kit, not an airplane model.

Cockpit sets are among the most demanding things Aires offers and at the same time among the most visible that can be replaced on a model. Instead of a shallow tub from a kit you get a cast cockpit with carefully worked out side panels, instrument panels and seats, on which even what a plastic mold cannot create is visible. The set is intended for the two-seat version, that is for the tandem arrangement of both pilot stations, and it is listed as the late version, which differs from the early one in the equipment of the cockpit. A model of the airplane is not part of the package.
The McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle is an American twin-engined air superiority fighter that came about at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s and became one of the most successful machines of its category. The F-15D version is the two-seat variant derived from the single-seat F-15C, intended for training and at the same time fully combat-capable. The second seat is placed behind the pilot under a commonly shaped canopy. The equipment of the cockpit gradually changed during the long service, so early and later machines differ from each other in the arrangement of the instruments and displays.
Count on this being work for more experienced modelers. Wash the castings and cut them off the casting blocks with a cutting disc, level the edges wet and with breathing protection. With Aires cockpit sets it tends to be necessary to thin the walls of the fuselage from inside and to shorten or remove the original plastic locating features, so try the model dry and take material off in small steps rather than large ones. Paint the cockpit completely outside the fuselage: a base coat, the main shade, a dark wash into the recesses, a dry brush on the edges and finally small touches of color on the controls. Glue with super glue; for large areas the gel variant is more suitable.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
