This is NOT a model of the aircraft but an add-on photo-etched set of seat belts. It holds colored, preprinted and self-adhesive belts of the ejection seats for the two-seat model of the F-15E Strike Eagle in 1:48 scale. The STEEL version means that the belts are etched from steel instead of brass.
Steel holds a bend better than brass, so the belts look naturally folded and faithfully follow the shape of the seat and of the cockpit tub. The color print faithfully imitates the straps and the metal buckles. The belts are small, but they bring otherwise empty seats markedly to life.
The parts are separated with tweezers, shaped into the bend you want and stuck onto the seat; they are self-adhesive, and to be safe a drop of cyanoacrylate can be added. Steel takes a little more force to work than brass, but it holds a bend more reliably.
This is an add-on photo-etched set. The basic model, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
