Pavla models 1:72 DH.100 Vampire Mk.1 with vacuum-formed canopies is an accessory set for a plastic kit of the first British jet fighter, not a model in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not an aircraft kit but an accessory set for modelers who want to raise the quality of a kit in 1:72 scale they have already bought. Besides resin parts it contains vacuum-formed canopies, that is, transparent parts shaped from thin clear film. Compared with the injection-molded canopy from the box they are noticeably thinner and give a better view into the inside of the fuselage, which shows immediately in a small scale. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
The de Havilland DH.100 Vampire was one of the first British jet aircraft brought into service. Its twin-boom tail structure with a short fuselage nacelle housing a centrifugal-flow engine is characteristic. Mk.1 designates the first production version, which reached the squadrons shortly after the Second World War and became a transitional type between piston fighters and a full jet generation.
Cut the vacuum-formed canopy out with a generous margin and sand it down to its final shape on fine sandpaper laid on a flat board. It is attached with PVA glue or a special glue for glazing, never with cyanoacrylate, which would fog the clear part. Mask the edges of the frames beforehand so that you get a sharp transition. Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent residue, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand them with respiratory protection. It is practical to fit the canopy only after the interior has been painted and the clear coat has dried.
The accessory set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
