A resin detail set from the Czech maker Aires in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but a set of faithful replacements for 20 mm MG FF aircraft cannons, which were carried by a number of German aircraft of the Second World War. The set brings finely cast weapons, in some cases complemented by small photo-etched parts of a kind that injection-molded plastic cannot offer in this scale.
The MG FF was a German 20 mm automatic aircraft cannon derived from an Oerlikon design. It was installed in the wings and fuselages of fighters and other aircraft at the start of the war, until more modern weapons gradually replaced it. A faithfully rendered barrel and gun bay are among the features that bring a model to life.
Wash the resin parts to remove mold release residue, cut off the thin casting blocks carefully and clean them up with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a base coat before painting; a dark base color and a fine dry brush will support the metallic look of the weapon.
This is a detail set, not an aircraft model. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
