A photo-etched metal accessory set in 1:48 scale for a model of the F-16CJ Block 50 fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-16 is a single-engined multirole combat aircraft which from the 1970s became the most widely used Western machine in its class. The designation F-16CJ came into use for single-seat Block 50 aircraft adapted to find and destroy the radars of an air defense system. On a model, the cockpit of such an aircraft is the most exposed part, because the whole of it stays visible under the slid-back canopy.
Photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale. Photo-etching works by etching an outline into thin sheet metal; the parts stay attached to the fret by small tabs and are taken off it only as the build goes along. The thickness of the sheet makes it possible to produce belts, plates, grilles and instrument panels at a fineness no plastic part comes close to. Which kit the set is cut for is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the parts from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with pliers, and sand the remains of the tab away with a fine file. Make the bends along the marked score line, in a bending tool or between two blades, always in one movement; repeated bending tires the metal and the part snaps. It is glued with super glue applied in a tiny amount with a pin or a piece of wire. Degrease the parts before painting and apply a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on smooth metal.
The kit, paints, glue and a bending tool are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
