1:48 F-4E/G Phantom II - masking for the landing gear bays for the late versions with the gun nose and anti-radar equipment.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set aimed at the landing gear bays of the two-seat F-4 Phantom II in the E and G versions. The interior spaces of the Phantom are large and intricate, so the difference between a sloppy and a precise boundary of shades shows especially strongly on them.
The E version brought an internal six-barrel cannon in a reworked nose to the Phantom family, a response to experience from maneuvering combat. Later production batches additionally got leading-edge slats, which markedly improved the machine's behavior in a turn. The two-seat G then grew out of the E, modified for finding and destroying ground radars: the cannon disappeared and receiving and processing equipment took its place. The crews of these machines earned a nickname from the dangerous job in which they first had to provoke the enemy into switching on his radar.
An airbrush handles large areas faster than a brush and without visible strokes. Apply the paint from the edges inward and watch that it does not pool in the corners. Before you let a highlighting shade into the bay, leave the base coat to rest overnight; only then does it hold firmly enough.
