1:48 F-5E Tiger II is a set of three-dimensional decals for the interior of the cockpit in 1:48 scale from Red Fox Studio. It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory for a plastic model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from Red Fox Studio holds three-dimensional (3D) decals for the cockpit of a plastic model. A color relief print gives the instrument panel and the side consoles a depth and a legibility that hand painting of small dials in 1:48 scale will practically never achieve. The set is cut for a particular kit and is an accessory to it, not a model of the aircraft on its own.
The Northrop F-5E Tiger II is a single-seat light supersonic fighter with two General Electric J85 jet engines. It arose as a simple machine, undemanding in service and affordable in price, intended above all for export, and it served in dozens of countries. In the United States it was also used for air combat training in the adversary role, where it stood in for the behavior of smaller fighters. The cockpit is compact and stays clearly visible under the one-piece canopy, so a detailed interior shows on a model.
Three-dimensional decals are not released from their backing in water like classic wet decals. They are fitted to the cockpit parts before the fuselage is closed up and the canopy is set in place. The surface should be smooth, degreased and dry. Try the parts dry and for the application itself go by the instructions of the maker of the set.
The set is an accessory for a kit. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
