A-10 Thunderbolt II air intakes and fans (1:48) is a 3D-printed detail set from Metallic Details. It faithfully replaces the engine intakes and the fan blades of the model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains finely made 3D-printed parts of the engine nacelle intakes and the front fan blades for models of the American Fairchild A-10A/B/C Thunderbolt II attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory, not a standalone kit.
The A-10 Thunderbolt II is a single-seat twin-engine attack aircraft built to destroy ground targets and give close support to troops, famous for its seven-barrel cannon and its tough structure. The engines are carried in nacelles set high on the fuselage, so deep, faithfully shaped intakes with visible blades are a conspicuous detail on the model.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts, separate them from the print supports and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint the insides of the intakes and the blades before you close the nacelles; pick out the metal shades with a metal paint. Do the sanding with respiratory protection.
The set is an accessory, not a standalone model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
