The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 was a single-seat, single-engine fighter with the BMW 801 radial engine, built from 1941 in many variants. The A-8 version was the most numerous production form of the A series and was notable for its strengthened structure and internal fit. The R2 designation belonged to the system of field conversion sets with which a production airframe was modified either at the factory or in the field; in this case it was a change of wing armament toward a larger caliber. The differences between the individual conversions matter to a modeler, because they show in the shape of the gondolas and in the details of the wing.
Separate the etched sheet with a sharp scalpel against a hard surface and transfer the parts with fine-tipped tweezers. Make the bends in a bending tool or over the edge of a ruler, not with your fingers. Color-printed parts, if the set contains them, are not painted over and are bonded with a small drop of super glue; degrease bare metal parts before spraying and treat them with a primer for metal. Instrument panels come into their own when a drop of clear gloss resin or gloss varnish is placed in the dials to imitate the glass.
