1:48 FuG 202 Lichtenstein radar antennas are a photo-etched accessory to a kit you have already bought, not an airplane model. They replace the coarse plastic dipoles on the nose of night fighters with fine photo-etched metal whose thickness matches the scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory holds the photo-etched antenna array of the FuG 202 Lichtenstein airborne radar. It is not a kit: the set is fitted to a finished airplane model, or one under construction, that carried such equipment. The antenna array on the nose is very much on show and decides whether a model looks believable or coarse.
The FuG 202 was a German airborne radar used during the Second World War on night fighters. Its antenna system took the form of several arrays of dipoles set out on booms ahead of the nose of the fuselage. It is precisely the thin dipoles and their mounts that are a demanding feature in shape, one that cannot be cast in injected plastic in a matching gauge, which is why photo-etched sheet is the logical substitute for a modeler.
The hardest part is symmetry. Before you start gluing, mark the centerline and the position of the booms on the nose, ideally as shallow recesses made with a micro drill, and fit them opposite each other in pairs. Degrease the photo-etched metal and spray it with a base coat while it is still on the fret, so that the finished structure is handled as little as possible. Glue with gel super glue, which will not run, and let the finished array harden without being touched. Once the antennas are glued on, do not set the model down on an open surface any more: it pays to have a stand ready for it.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
