The Japanese destroyer Ayanami 1:700 is an injection-molded plastic kit in waterline form from Tamiya, representing one of the special type ships of the Fubuki class.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:700 scale from the Waterline range. The model is done as a waterline kit with a flat bottom, so it stands flat and convincingly suggests a ship on the surface. Part of the superstructure is molded directly onto the hull, while the guns, funnels, torpedo tube mounts, boats and masts are added. Waterslide decals are in the box.
The Ayanami was one of the special type destroyers of the Fubuki class, which stood out for their heavy gun and torpedo armament. She served in the early months of the war in the Pacific and was lost in the fighting off Guadalcanal.
A waterline model needs no stand and suits a base or a mock-up of the sea surface. Separate and clean up the small parts carefully and cement them with thin cement for plastic. Photo-etched railings from accessory sets refine the look. The hull is sprayed in a Japanese naval gray, and at the end picking out the panels and a fine patina help.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
