The Fw 190A-2 is one of the early production forms of the German single-seat Focke-Wulf fighter. It can be told at a glance from the slender types with a liquid-cooled engine: at the front it has an air-cooled two-row fourteen-cylinder BMW 801 radial in a broad cowling, below it the main landing gear with a wide track, and on top a cockpit with a sliding canopy set high on the fuselage spine. It is the cockpit that is most visible on a finished model, and a smooth kit instrument panel tends to be the first thing an experienced eye catches on it.
SPACE is a range of color three-dimensional elements for fitting out a cockpit. The elements have no adhesive layer of their own: only the backing paper is moistened with a damp sponge and a drop of detergent, the element is lifted off it with tweezers and fixed with white PVA glue. The manufacturer does not recommend cyanoacrylate, and a decal softener does not belong on the elements. They are shaped to the parts of a particular kit, so check which one in the manufacturer's instructions.
Spray the cockpit in the base interior shade first and let it dry, because the elements are placed on a finished base. Moisten the backing paper, lift the element off it with tweezers, lay it down dry, check the position and only then press it down with a soft stick. Fix it with a drop of white PVA glue. On a smooth base the element seats better than on a roughened surface. Paint the rest of the model in the usual way.
For modelers who build the Fw 190A-2 in 1:48 scale and want a cockpit with raised instruments quickly and without laborious hand painting of small details. The kit, paints and glue are not the subject of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
