Grumman F-14D Super Tomcat – cockpit panels 1:48 from Red Fox Studio fill both stations of a model with rendered displays. Intended for the AMK kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from Red Fox Studio fills both cockpits of a model with panels carrying rendered displays, dials and control keypads of the late version of the Tomcat. It is applied like a decal, it holds the shape of the surface underneath and it is finished in moments. The aircraft kit has to be bought separately. The accessory is intended for the AMK kits.
The D form was given new engines, which removed the problems with sensitivity to movement of the throttle, and an upgraded radar. Under the nose came a twin pod with an infrared sensor and a television camera. The instrument fit moved toward screens and the crew sat in newer ejection seats. Machines in this form served with carrier squadrons until 2006. Some of them were created by converting older airframes, so differences in the cockpit fit appeared between individual aircraft.
Finish both cockpit tubs including the base shade, and only then lay the panels in. Press evenly from the center, so that no air is left anywhere. Put the seats in at the very end, because they block access to the rear bulkhead. If you plan an open canopy, it pays to pick the edges of the panels out in a dark shade so that they look deeper.
