A metal accessory set for the exterior of a model of the Grumman F-14A Tomcat carrier fighter in the late production form, 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is a two-seat carrier fighter with a variable-geometry wing. In the US Navy it was responsible for defending the fleet, so it relied on long range and a powerful radar to catch targets as far from the ships as possible. The F-14A was the first production version; the word late in the name of the set refers to machines of later production, which differed from the first examples in details of the exterior.
Metal accessory parts for the exterior of an F-14A model in 1:48 scale. Accessories of this kind aim at places that can only be managed in a coarser thickness in plastic, so once they are fitted the surface of the model looks finer and small shapes have sharper edges. The extent of the set, the placement of the individual parts and the kit the set is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand the remains away so that the part sits flat. Degrease both the part and the area on the model before gluing; metal parts hold with cyanoacrylate glue, while cement for polystyrene has no effect on them. Give the surface a base coat before painting, otherwise the finish holds badly on smooth metal. Work with tweezers and lay the small parts out in advance according to the instructions so that they do not get lost.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
