The masking set 1:48 J2M2/ 3/ 5 Nat. Ins. w/ White Outline from Dead Design is for spraying national insignia with a light ring for Mitsubishi Raiden models.
Responsibility details are not available.
Masks for spraying the Japanese national insignia onto a model of the naval fighter Mitsubishi J2M. The name lists three subversions, the J2M2, J2M3 and J2M5, and at the same time specifies the rendition with a light ring around the red disc. It is bought in addition to a model, not as a replacement for it, and it comes into play at the moment the camouflage is finished and the markings are next in line.
The Raiden was created for a task the Imperial Japanese Navy long underestimated: stopping formations of high-flying bombers. A fast climb and heavy cannon armament came at the cost of the agility Japanese pilots expected of their machines, and so the type took a long time to earn a good name. The individual subversions differed from one another mainly in armament, the shape of the canopy and the tuning of the engine for altitude.
A light ring needs a clean base, otherwise every speck of dirt will show in it as a dark dot. Before you seat the mask, go over the area with a degreaser and let it dry. Spray the white in coats and allow yourself a pause between them. Only then mask the center and add the red. You will manage the uncovering more cleanly if you warm the surface slightly with the palm of your hand.
