An accessory set of underwing ordnance for aircraft models in 1:48 scale: the AGM-65 Maverick air-to-ground guided missile.
Responsibility details are not available.
The AGM-65 Maverick is a tactical air-to-ground guided missile that Western combat aircraft have carried since the 1970s. It was created against point targets, that is against armored vehicles, air defense positions, bunkers or bridge structures. The missile is released from a pylon under the wing and flies to the target by itself, so the aircraft does not have to stay in the threatened area. Over time several versions arose that differed in the seeker head and in the size of the warhead; the particular version does not follow from the name of the set, so choose it according to the aircraft and the period you are building.
This is an accessory for aircraft models in 1:48 scale. Underwing ordnance is one of the things that turn a finished model into a machine ready for action, and replacement missiles tend to be cleaner in shape than the parts enclosed with a kit.
Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and carefully sand the remainder down so that the slender nose and the edges of the fins are preserved. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, and choose the glue according to their material. It makes sense to paint the missile separately and hang it on the model last, otherwise the underside of the wing is hard to reach. The color markings on this missile differed by version and by whether it was a training or a live round, so follow the references for the machine you are building.
For modelers of aircraft in 1:48 scale who want to equip a model with underwing ordnance. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
