The anti-radiation missile 1:48 Kh-58 Kilter by AMMO of Mig Jimenez as external stores for a finished model of a Soviet strike aircraft in 1:48.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Kh-58 missile, which Western services kept under the name Kilter, was the main weapon of the Soviet machines intended for silencing air defenses. This set brings it as stores under the wing of a model already under construction.
The Kh-58 came into being at the Raduga design bureau and entered service at the turn of the nineteen-seventies and eighties. It was guided passively onto the emissions of ground radars, so the crew did not have to fly into the range of the missile systems they were to knock out. It was carried by Su-24M frontline bombers, specially modified MiG-25BM and, in export versions, by the Su-17M4 and the Su-22M4 as well; podded containers served to locate the emitting positions. It is a long and slender weapon that noticeably changes the silhouette of the stores on a model.
First rid the parts of residues from production and let them dry out properly. Before spraying, go over the surfaces with fine abrasive paper and lay down a primer, so that the shade holds. Soviet missiles tended to be in light gray to white with colored bands at the seeker head. Before the decals come up, spray the place over with gloss varnish. Check the position of the pylon against a drawing of the particular machine.
The missiles are supplied unpainted. The aircraft, the pylons, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
