A resin and 3D-printed detail set, the engine and cowling for the Westland Lysander Mk.I/III in 1:48 scale from SBS Model. It is not a model of the aircraft but a set for improving the engine section.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set from SBS Model meant to improve the plastic kit of the British Westland Lysander Mk.I/III liaison and reconnaissance aircraft in 1:48 scale from Airfix. It is not a model of the aircraft but a set of a replacement engine and engine cowling. It combines a 3D-printed engine, a cast resin cowling with exhausts and photo-etched parts, and it is meant for more experienced modelers.
It replaces the simplified engine and cowling from the original kit with a faithfully worked radial engine and an accurate cowling. It makes it possible to present the model with the engine exposed, which is a popular way of raising the realism and appeal of a finished aircraft.
Wash the parts clean of any mold release agent, separate them from the casting blocks and the supports and dry-fit them. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and bend the photo-etch dry. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Paint the engine and bring it out with a wash before assembly.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a set of resin and photo-etch. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
