The New Ware 1:48 MiG-25PD ADVANCED mask set holds cut self-adhesive masks in the middle extent of the range. It copes with the glazing and with further areas of the model without cutting tape by hand.

An aftermarket mask set from the manufacturer New Ware in 1:48 scale. It is neither a model nor parts for a model, but an aid for painting: the self-adhesive masks are machine-cut in advance to a shape matching the particular ICM 48903 kit. The ADVANCED step is the middle level of the range — it has a wider reach than the basic set, but it does not go as far as the highest step.
The MiG-25PD is the later interceptor variant of the Soviet twin-engine machine known for its high speed and ceiling. Its characteristic features are the angular nose and the cockpit with divided frames, so that masking the glazing makes up a substantial part of the work before painting on this type.
On divided cockpits the frames tend to be narrow and the mask for them comes out as a thin strip that stretches easily. Take it off the backing straight up, not by pulling to the side, or it will stretch and stop fitting. The critical places are those where two strips meet in a corner — press the mask down there with a toothpick with a rounded tip. Spray the inside of the cockpit before you glue the clear part onto the fuselage, and before spraying the interior mask the inner side of the glazing as well, if the set allows it. Never dissolve adhesive residue after removal with alcohol or thinner — milky patches will form on the clear plastic.
This is a stand-alone mask set. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
