MiG-21 F.O.D. 1:48 is a resin set of protective covers for the air intake and the nozzle for MiG-21 models in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not a kit but a resin accessory from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The abbreviation F.O.D. (Foreign Object Damage) stands for the protective covers fitted on the ground over the air intake and the exhaust nozzle so that dirt cannot get into the engine. The set contains faithful castings of these covers for MiG-21 models in 1:48 scale and gives a machine on the apron its typical on-the-ground look.
The MiG-21 was a Soviet supersonic fighter, one of the most widely used jets in history. A dozen countries operated it, and when parked, protective covers were routinely placed in the nose air intake and in the nozzle, often with Remove Before Flight tags.
Wash the mold release agent off the castings and separate them from the casting blocks. Glue them dry-fitted or only at a few points so that they can be taken off the finished model when it is displayed. Painting follows the real covers, typically in bright warning shades; the tags can be added with fine photo-etch or a decal.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package.
