A modeling paint, not a kit. ATOM COLOR Sandgelb RLM 79 is a water-thinnable acrylic from the ATOM range by AMMO of Mig Jimenez, supplied in a bottle of 20 ml. The ATOM range rests on an exceptionally fine pigment: the paint is self-leveling, dries fast and is formulated from the start to behave equally well under a brush and in an airbrush. It dries to a flat surface which, once cured, takes further coats: clear coats, washes, enamel products, masking tape and decals.
RLM 79 is the sand, ocher brown-yellow color of the Luftwaffe intended for desert and tropical camouflage. It was worn by machines deployed in North Africa and the Mediterranean, the area where the Afrikakorps operated. It typically formed the upper surfaces of the airframe, while the underside stayed in the light blue RLM 78; patches of the olive RLM 80 were often sprayed onto the upper surfaces. Tropical aircraft received this finish from the factory, and later machines were repainted in RLM 79 at unit level as well.
Shake the bottle properly before use. Into an airbrush ATOM sprays practically straight from the bottle; for any thinning and for cleanup use water or an acrylic thinner, never a nitro or lacquer thinner. Light sand tones cover better over a light primer. Before decals, go over the area with a gloss clear coat and flatten it again afterward.
For modelers building Luftwaffe aircraft in a desert scheme and for anyone who needs a dependable sand shade that a brush and an airbrush both handle.
A water based paint with no odor. Keep out of the reach of children and do not let it freeze. Work in a ventilated space when spraying and protect your airways.
