A cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:48 scale for the Soviet Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21MF supersonic fighter. It is not a kit or a model in its own right but a set of precisely shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks cover the framing of the glazed cockpit and in addition hold a mask for the canopy seal, so the rubber edging around the canopy can also be sprayed cleanly; depending on the contents of the package they also serve to cover the wheels. The parts are cut exactly to the shape of a particular kit.
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 was a Soviet second-generation supersonic fighter, one of the most widespread jet aircraft in history, which served in dozens of countries. The MiG-21MF version was among the higher-performance export forms with an improved engine and radar and with its armament carried on underwing pylons.
First remove any grease from the glazing. Lift the mask off the backing, place it on the frame and press it down so that it adheres without wrinkles. Then spray the color of the framing with an airbrush in thin coats so that it does not creep under the edge. With the seal mask you cover the edging around the canopy before spraying its color. Once dry, peel the masks off carefully at a sharp angle.
The package holds only the masks. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
