MiG-21PFM turquoise SPACE 1:48 (Eduard)

This is an aftermarket set of the SPACE series from the maker Eduard, intended for models of the MiG-21PFM fighter in 1:48 scale. It contains layered colored 3D elements of the instrument panels and the side consoles of the cockpit, printed on a backing paper, together with photo-etched steel seat belts. The elements have no adhesive layer of their own. The turquoise designation points to the characteristic turquoise shade of the interior of Soviet aircraft of this generation.

Use

• The 3D elements carry a raised relief of the dial faces and the switches, so the cockpit gains depth without folding tiny etched parts.
• With a damp sponge and a drop of dish soap, moisten only the backing paper, lift the element off with tweezers and fix it to the cleaned panel with white PVA glue.
• The maker does not recommend super glue for film elements, and do not use a decal softener, as it will damage the printed resin.
• The steel etched belts are bent, glued with super glue and fitted to the seat while the cockpit is still accessible.

Who the set is for

Suited to modelers who want to raise the detail of a pilot's compartment quickly and strikingly, without long painting of individual instruments. Builders with an interest in Cold War MiGs will appreciate it.

This is not a kit nor a model in its own right but an add-on detail set. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
