A resin detail set, not an airplane kit. This finely cast resin set refines the fuselage cannon of the Soviet Mikoyan MiG-27 ground-attack aircraft (NATO reporting name Flogger D) in 1:48 scale. The MiG-27 carried the powerful six-barrel 30 mm GSh-6-30 cannon in a pod under the fuselage; the resin part captures the barrel cluster and the shape of the pod more faithfully than the simplified plastic from the box. The set is meant for advanced modelers with resin experience.
The cannon is one of the recognition features of the MiG-27 and it is clearly visible on the underside of the fuselage. An accurate rendering of the rotary barrel cluster and of the muzzles markedly lifts how realistic a model looks. The MiG-27 grew out of the MiG-23 as a ground-attack development with fixed intakes and a characteristic sloped nose; its gun was among the most powerful aircraft cannon of its day.
