MASTER 1:48 armament for the P-38M Lightning are turned metal barrels for the 12.7 mm Browning machine guns and the muzzle of the 20 mm cannon with flash hiders.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of accurate turned metal barrels from MASTER in 1:48 scale for a model of the P-38M Lightning night fighter. It contains the barrels of the 12.7 mm Browning machine guns and the muzzle of the 20 mm cannon with flash hiders. It is not a model of an aircraft but a refining accessory replacing the plastic barrels from the base kit.
The P-38M was the two-seat night fighter version of the Lockheed P-38 Lightning from the end of the Second World War, fitted with radar. The armament concentrated in the nose of the central nacelle comprised machine guns of 12.7 mm caliber and a 20 mm cannon. Flash hiders limited the glare that dazzled the pilot when firing at night.
The metal parts are cut cleanly from the carrier and glued with cyanoacrylate into the nose of the nacelle. Metal holds paint better once a base coat is applied. Fitting belongs among the last steps of the build, so that the fine barrels are not damaged.
This is an accessory, not an aircraft kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
