Master 1:48 Browning AN/M2 aircraft .30 caliber (7.62 mm) barrels is a pair of turned metal barrels for the 7.62 mm aircraft machine gun for models in 1:48 scale. It replaces plastic barrels whose muzzles are only suggested.

The set contains two turned metal barrels for the Browning AN/M2 aircraft machine gun of .30 caliber, that is 7.62 mm, in 1:48 scale from the Polish brand Master. It is not an aircraft kit but a replacement part for building a model. The difference from plastic is obvious at first glance: the metal barrel has a genuinely drilled bore, while the plastic part has its muzzle only suggested and has to be laboriously drilled out with a micro drill, which on such a thin part often ends with a broken tip.
The Browning AN/M2 of .30 caliber was an American aircraft machine gun derived from the M1919 infantry pattern. The air-cooled barrel sat in a perforated jacket that carried the heat away during longer bursts. The aircraft version was lighter than the infantry one and had a higher rate of fire. It was fitted in wings, in fuselages and in flexible defensive positions. The .30 caliber corresponds to the metric figure of 7.62 mm.
Cut the plastic barrel off as close to the breech as possible and level the surface with a file. Drill a hole in what remains to match the diameter of the pin of the metal barrel and fit the part dry first, to check the alignment and the depth of seating. It is glued with a drop of cyanoacrylate; with a larger gap, slow-setting epoxy is safer and gives you time to adjust the angle. Degrease the metal with alcohol before painting and use a primer made for metals, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. A blackening solution gives a nicer result than paint: the brass darkens to steel and the muzzle is then only lightly polished.
This is an accessory for building a model, not a standalone kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
