A resin detail set in 1:48 scale for more experienced modelers. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory, the control surfaces, that is, the ailerons, the elevator and the rudder, which replaces the corresponding parts of a plastic kit of the American Bell P-39 Airacobra fighter. It makes it possible to show the control surfaces deflected.
The Bell P-39 Airacobra was an American single-seat fighter of the Second World War with an unusual layout: the engine sat behind the pilot and it was one of the first American fighters to use tricycle landing gear. It was also flown in large numbers by the Soviet Air Force. Separately cast, deflected control surfaces give a model on its stand a livelier look than surfaces flush with the wing and tail.
Before gluing, wash the parts to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and sand the surfaces; protect your airways when sanding resin. Bond the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate). On the plastic the original surfaces have to be cut away and the cuts cleaned up. Try the fit dry. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
This is a resin detail set for more experienced modelers, not a complete model. A matching base kit is needed to use it; paints, glue and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
