Quickboost 1:48 PV-1 Ventura exhausts is a resin set of faithfully cast exhaust stubs for a model of the American Lockheed PV-1 Ventura patrol bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set of the Quickboost brand, made by Aires, brings faithfully cast exhaust stubs for a model of the American twin-engine Lockheed PV-1 Ventura patrol bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory for more experienced modelers that replaces the solid plastic exhausts with a casting with a finer shape and suggested outlets. The engine nacelles then read more realistically and take the patina of exhaust traces more readily.
The Lockheed PV-1 Ventura was an American twin-engine patrol and bombing aircraft of the Second World War, powered by a pair of Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engines. With the US Navy it served from 1943 above all on maritime patrol and anti-submarine work, but it was also used in the Pacific against ground and shipping targets.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water so that any mold release residue is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the cut surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond the parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), not with plastic cement.
The set is supplied as a resin part, unassembled and unpainted. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for a plastic kit. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
