Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the light RWD-8 high-wing monoplane in 1:48 scale from the Polish manufacturer Mirage Hobby. The boxing is defined by two details: it is the PWS guise, that is the series from license production, and the machines used by the Luftwaffe in the training and liaison role.
The RWD-8 was a Polish trainer and liaison aircraft of the 1930s, a structurally simple high-wing monoplane with fixed landing gear and open cockpits for a crew of two. It came about as a basic training machine and became one of the most numerously built Polish aircraft of its day. Production ran in parallel at two companies, with the series designated PWS differing from the second production line in details of structure. After 1939 captured machines were operated outside their original service as well, among other things for training and liaison flights.
On aircraft with fixed landing gear and struts it pays to glue step by step and to keep checking the symmetry, ideally over a drawing or in a simple jig. The cockpits are open, so the inside is visible and it makes sense to spend time on it before closing the fuselage. Glue the clear parts, if any are included in the package, with a canopy glue that does not fog them. Varnish the surface with a gloss clear coat before the decals, and flatten it once dry. Fabric covering shows to advantage with a gentle emphasis of the ribs and a very discreet wash; heavy patina would look unnatural on a training machine.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
