Photo-etched steel seat belts for the cockpits of German fighters of the Second World War in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Seat belts are the most visible thing in an open cockpit. The part from a kit tends to be only suggested by relief on the seat or a molded plastic strap that cannot be bent naturally. Photo-etched belts solve that problem: they have a real thickness close to the original, can be thrown over the edge of the seat and left to hang freely, just as it looks in photographs of real machines.
These are photo-etched parts in steel in 1:48 scale, prepared for the cockpits of German fighters of the Second World War. Steel photo-etch is stiffer than brass, holds its shape once bent and does not spring back, which is useful with a hanging belt. The exact number of belt sets in the package and the kits they are sized for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the parts off the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with cutters. Make the bends over the edge of a bending tool or a ruler and shape a natural sag by drawing the belt over a round object. They are glued with a small dot of cyanoacrylate. Before any painting, wash and degrease the parts, otherwise paint will not hold on the smooth metal.
For modelers who build a cockpit with an open canopy and want one striking extra detail in it without major changes to the build. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
