Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American twin-engine fighter Grumman F7F Tigercat in 1:72 scale from FLY. It is a new short-run tool that allows either the F7F-3 day fighter version or the later F7F-3K version, converted for drone and target-towing duties, to be built. The boxing contains plastic and clear parts, decals and a masking film; several marking options are enclosed. Because of its short-run nature the build is more suited to experienced modelers.
The Grumman F7F Tigercat was a powerful twin-engine carrier fighter powered by a pair of Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engines. It entered service only at the very end of the Second World War, so it never took part in the major fighting, but it served in the postwar period. The F7F-3 version was the most numerous production variant; the machines designated -3K were later converted for the role of controlled drones and target towing.
Glue the plastic parts with liquid cement for plastic; with a short-run tool it pays to clean the parts up carefully and to try them dry. Protect the clear cockpit parts with the enclosed masks. Apply a primer before painting and use an airbrush - the glossy naval blue Glossy Sea Blue is the typical shade of postwar machines. Pick the engraved panels out with a subtle wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
