A resin set of replacement main wheels with a four-spoke hub and enclosed masks for painting, in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an upgrade accessory for models of the Spitfire Mk.IX fighter. Cast wheels bring sharper detail in the tread and the hub than injection-molded plastic can manage.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was one of the most numerous and most successful versions of the British fighter. A Merlin 60 series engine with a two-stage supercharger gave it back the advantage at high altitude. The four-spoke wheel hub is a typical detail of many machines of this version.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts and cut off the casting blocks. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and protect your airways while sanding. The enclosed masks will give a clean division between the tire and the hub — spray the hub first and only then, once masked, the tire.
The accessory upgrades a plastic kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
