1:48 Su-27UB. Canopy masks is a set of painting masks for the cockpit glazing of the two-seat version of the Su-27, not a kit. It serves for spraying the frames of the canopy cleanly on a model in 1:48 scale. The set is intended for the GWH kit.

This is an accessory for building a model, not a kit. The set contains painting masks cut to the shape of the cockpit glazing; they are stuck on the clear part, oversprayed with the color of the frames and taken off once the paint has dried. Compared with the single-seat version, the two-seat Su-27 has a longer and differently divided canopy, so masks intended for the single-seat version will not fit it. The manufacturer of the set is Metallic Details. The base kit is the one from GWH.
The Sukhoi Su-27UB is the two-seat combat trainer version of the heavy single-seat Su-27 fighter. It keeps the basic aerodynamic layout of the type, an integral fuselage blending smoothly into the wing, a pair of engines in separate nacelles and twin vertical tail surfaces, but it has a lengthened forward fuselage with two cockpits in tandem. The rear seat is raised for the instructor's view and the cockpit canopy is therefore markedly longer and differently divided. On a model that is the most striking difference from the single-seat version, and it is precisely why the masks are tied to a particular subversion.
Wash and degrease the clear part. Release the masks from the sheet with the tip of a sharp knife and transfer them with tweezers onto the areas that are to stay clear. Press the edges down along the whole perimeter; on the long convex canopy work in sections and form the curvature with a wooden toothpick. Cut any uncovered sections from the waste of the sheet or complete them with narrow masking tape. Spray the frames first in the interior shade, then in the exterior finish, always in several thin coats. Take the masks off shortly after the paint has dried, slowly and at a sharp angle.
The set contains only masking parts. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
