Eduard 1:48 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XII photo-etched seat belts are pre-colored belts of photo-etched steel for the pilot's seat in a model of this fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched seat belts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a plastic model of the Spitfire Mk.XII in 1:48 scale. The belts are made of steel and are supplied pre-colored, so it is enough to separate them, shape them and seat them in the cockpit. It is not a kit nor a whole detail set for the cockpit, but a targeted accessory.
Photo-etched steel is springier than brass and holds the shape you bend it into better. That is exactly what matters with belts: real straps hang loose over the edge of the seat and sag naturally, whereas plastic belts out of the box tend to be flat and stiff. A shaped steel belt gives the cockpit movement and depth even in 1:48 scale, where the seat is small but clearly visible.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel against a hard support. Shape them carefully between your fingers and with tweezers; steel will take a bend, but repeated folding in one place will crack it. They are glued with super glue in spots, or with white PVA glue if you need time to set them in place. Do not spray over the color print; you can only unify it at the end with a fine matte varnish. Dry pastel or a light wash will give the belts a worn look.
It is an accessory for a plastic model, not a kit. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
