An accessory from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, not a kit of the aircraft. The LööK range brings together the two things a modeler most often has to deal with on an interior: a ready-painted resin instrument panel and color photo-etched seat harness belts in steel. The set is cut for a particular kit in 1:48 scale, so the panel matches its cockpit in both shape and mounting.
A conventional photo-etched instrument panel is flat and made up of several layers. A resin casting, by contrast, offers real depth: raised dial bezels, recessed faces and three-dimensional levers. Because it is also painted and shaded at the factory, it saves the least pleasant part of the job, painting dials under a millimeter across. It is glued in as a single part, which makes it one of the fastest ways to lift the standard of a cockpit.
First cut the resin part carefully from the casting block with a saw or a cutting disc, and never with nippers, because resin cracks. Sand the cut with respiratory protection, as resin dust must not be inhaled. Wash the part in lukewarm soapy water to remove any mold release agent, otherwise paint will not hold on it. It is glued with cyanoacrylate. The original plastic panel will have to be removed or sanded away so that the new one sits down. Glue the belts in last, once the seat is finished. Do not overspray the painted surfaces, and apply flat clear coat only to the surrounding plastic.
This is an add-on set, not a stand-alone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
