An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Supermarine Walrus amphibious flying boat in 1:48 scale from Smer. It is an older mold of the single-engine biplane with a pusher propeller; it holds the boat-shaped hull, the wings and the struts. Check the actual package contents and the decals against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Supermarine Walrus was a British amphibious flying boat used above all for reconnaissance and for the air-sea rescue of downed airmen. The biplane with a boat-shaped hull and a radial engine in pusher layout took off from the water and by catapult from the decks of warships alike. It served with the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force during the Second World War.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and fill and sand the seams. As a biplane it calls for the rigging of the interplane struts, so reckon on it for a faithful look. Glue the canopy glazing carefully with cement for clear parts, so that the plastic does not cloud. Supplement the naval schemes of gray and blue-gray shades with a wash on the panel lines and with fine traces of service and sea salt.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
