Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier-borne dive bomber Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless in 1:48 scale from Academy. The edition refers to the Battle of the Philippine Sea of 1944. The package consists of injection-molded plastic sprues, clear parts and a set of decals for US Navy machines.
The Douglas SBD Dauntless was the key carrier-borne dive bomber of the US Navy in the Second World War. It made its name above all in the fighting in the Pacific, where its pilots sank a number of Japanese ships. Its characteristic feature was the perforated dive brakes on the wings, which allowed the aircraft an accurate diving attack. The SBD-5 version received a more powerful engine. The Battle of the Philippine Sea in June 1944 was one of the largest air battles fought over the sea.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Finish the glazed cockpit with its rear gunner position before closing up the fuselage, and mask the clear parts. Apply a primer and spray the naval schemes with an airbrush in thin coats. The perforated dive brakes can be shown extended. A dark wash will bring out the engraved panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
