The release combines quality injection-molded plastic with a decal sheet for attractive schemes. It is a late version of the Crusader with modifications for operation from carriers.
The F-8 Crusader was an American single-seat supersonic carrier fighter with its characteristic variable-incidence wing and cannon armament. The F-8J version was among the late modernized machines of the Navy and was deployed over Southeast Asia as well. The aircraft became famous as one of the last purely gun-armed fighters.
Finish the cockpit and the nose landing gear before the fuselage is closed up. The wing can be built in the raised position for an eye-catching look. Light gray and white naval schemes call for a smooth base, gloss varnish under the decals and a fine emphasis on the panel lines.
