1:48 Vought F4U-1A Corsair LooK is a finished three-dimensionally printed instrument panel from Eduard for a model of the Corsair in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The LooK line rests on a simple idea: you get the instrument panel finished. The part is printed three-dimensionally, so the instruments have real depth, the dials are printed in color and the builder does not have to draw them in laboriously with a brush. It is fitted into the model in place of the panel from the kit, usually after the original part has been removed and the seating slightly adapted. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory to a model you are already building.
The Vought F4U Corsair was an American carrier fighter with the characteristic inverted gull wing, which the designers chose so that a short enough landing gear would fit under the giant propeller. The F4U-1A version brought a raised cockpit and a better view forward, which on a machine with such a long nose was a fundamental step toward usability on a deck. The Corsair served mainly with the Marine Corps in the Pacific, where it won a reputation as a fast, hard-hitting machine, and in British and New Zealand colors it flew on after the end of the war too.
Before gluing the panel in, try it dry to see whether enough room is left behind it for the canopy. Three-dimensionally printed parts are more fragile than injection-molded plastic, so cut them off with a thin saw and sand the surface only lightly. Do not coat the dials with a matte varnish, as they would lose the gloss of the glass, which is best seen from the front on the panel.
