The contents are interior decoration for modelers who already have the kit. Color three-dimensional elements replace flat imitations of instruments and panels, and the cockpit thereby gains depth without your having to reach for photo-etch or for painting tiny dials.
The F4U-2 came about by converting carrier Corsairs into machines able to find a target after dark. It received a radar in a pod on the right wing, lost some of its gun armament, and equipment for operating the radar was added in the cockpit. It served with night squadrons of the US Navy in the Pacific area and is often called the first successful attempt of this kind aboard aircraft carriers.
First finish building the tub and paint it, and only then fit the individual elements. Take care that the instrument panel sits on the axis: on the Corsair the cockpit is deep and a piece set at an angle shows when seen from above. Finally unify the sheen according to what you want to emphasize.
The tall fuselage and the sliding canopy mean that you can see into the cockpit from a wide angle, yet reaching into it is hard. It therefore pays to finish everything before the fuselage halves are glued together and not to count on adjusting anything afterward.
The set includes neither plastic parts nor paints.
