Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the Japanese destroyer Shimakaze from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi. The designation in the name refers to the early form of the vessel and, besides the ship itself, it also mentions crew figures and photo-etched accessories. The larger scale gives room for details that would be lost in a smaller form.
Shimakaze was built in 1943 as an experimental fast destroyer and remained the only unit of her type. A high-pressure power plant made her the fastest Japanese unit in her category, and her main striking weapon was 610 mm torpedo tubes arranged in quintuple mounts. Her combat career ended in November 1944 during a supply operation in Philippine waters.
First dry-fit the hull and decide whether you want the vessel whole or cut off at the waterline. Bend the photo-etched parts on a metal surface and attach them with super glue in short sections. It pays to spray the deck before the superstructures go on it, and to paint the small figures away from the model. Dry brushing with a lighter tone will bring out the rivets and the edges nicely.
The kit comes unassembled and with no finish. Obtain glue and paints separately.
