The set brings four rims, two for the front and two for the rear axle, because the real car has a different wheel size at the front and at the rear. Decalcas makes them by 3D printing from resin, so the spokes, the recesses and the lip of the rim have sharper definition than can be achieved by injection molding. It is not a kit of the car and not a complete wheel: the set does not contain tires and the rims are designed for use with the tires from an ordinary kit in 1:24 scale.
On the sharpest track version of the 911 a magnesium wheel is a way of taking off unsprung mass. It differs from the aluminum one not only in material but also in the shade of the finish, so you can tell it on the car at first glance. On a circuit it shows above all in how the suspension responds to bumps and in the effectiveness of the brakes.
Cut the rims off the print supports with a sharp scalpel and level the mating surfaces with a fine file so that the wheel sits square to the axle. A thick coat of primer would clog the fine detail, so paint in a thin coat. A magnesium wheel tends to be flatter and shifted toward gray compared with glossy aluminum, so go for a muted shade. They are bonded with super glue, that is, with cyanoacrylate.
The set is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
