An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer RS Models, released as a limited edition. The subject is the American Bell P-39 Airacobra fighter in the RP-39Q-22BE variant. The kit is usually supplemented with small resin parts and clear parts. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Bell P-39 Airacobra was an American single-seat fighter with an untraditional layout: the engine was mounted behind the pilot in the middle of the fuselage and drove the propeller through a long shaft, which freed the nose for heavy cannon armament and for a nosewheel landing gear. The Airacobra excelled at low and medium altitudes and became exceptionally successful above all in the hands of Soviet pilots. The designation with the prefix R refers to machines set aside for auxiliary and non-combat duties.
With limited runs, expect finer parts and more careful preparation of the joints. Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Prime the surface, the metal areas can be handled with an airbrush, and apply the decals onto a smooth gloss coat and secure them with a matte overcoat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
