Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic model of the German battleship Bismarck as she was in 1941, in 1:700 scale from Trumpeter. It comes from a new mold; with the enclosed parts the hull can be built either as a full hull with a stand or as a waterline version. The box contains plastic sprues with finely engraved decks and sheets of decals. The exact parts count and the number of marking schemes are given in the instructions in the box.
Bismarck was the lead ship of the class of the same name of the Kriegsmarine and one of the largest battleships built in Europe. She carried a main armament of 380 mm in four twin turrets and heavy armor. In May 1941 she sailed on her only combat operation into the Atlantic, during which she sank the British battlecruiser HMS Hood. She was then hunted by the forces of the Royal Navy and sunk on 27 May 1941. Her story is one of the best-known naval episodes of the Second World War.
Decide in advance between the full hull and the waterline version — a waterline model comes into its own on a water base, a full hull on the enclosed stand. Glue the small superstructure and turret parts with thin modeling cement for plastic. Adding photo-etched railings and antennas raises the realism (they are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise). Apply a primer, spray the spring 1941 camouflage scheme with an airbrush in thin coats and pick out the decks and the recesses with dark washes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
