A detailed plastic kit of the British battleship HMS Malaya in 1:700 scale from Trumpeter. The hull is made by multi-axis molding with the option of building a full-hull or a waterline variant. The box contains photo-etched parts, a base with an engraved nameplate and a decal sheet.
HMS Malaya belonged to the British Queen Elizabeth class, the fast battleships armed with guns of 381 mm. In the First World War she took part in the Battle of Jutland, where she took hits and casualties. In the Second World War she served above all escorting convoys and supporting operations until the end of the war.
Choose the full-hull or the waterline variant. Glue the fine photo-etched parts for the masts and the railings with cyanoacrylate. Pick the engraved wooden deck out with a glaze and a wash, and paint the hull with an airbrush in a period British gray scheme. Assemble and paint any shipboard aircraft separately. The higher parts count makes the kit better suited to more experienced modelers.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
