A wooden deck for a model of HMS Nelson as of 1944, 1:700 scale - a self-adhesive veneer part with pre-printed plank laying instead of the engraved plastic deck. Meant for the Trumpeter 06717 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a model on its own. It holds a wooden veneer cut to the shape of the deck of a model of HMS Nelson as she was in 1944 in 1:700 scale, with printed plank laying and an adhesive layer on the back. Once glued down it replaces the engraved plastic deck with a surface of real wood.
Self-adhesive veneer forgives one single mistake, and that is none. Once the adhesive layer has seated on the plastic, the part cannot be taken off without damaging it, and veneer will not stick a second time. The rule is therefore simple: while the covering film is in place, test, measure and adjust as much as is needed. Lay the part on, check the outline against the edges of the deck, go through every cut-out, make sure that material is neither missing nor in excess anywhere, and make any adjustments now. Only when you are certain should you reach for the film.
Press from the point of first contact outward, so that no air bubble is closed in under the veneer. Use a finger through a piece of soft cloth or a wooden stick with a blunted end; a hard tool would leave a dent in soft veneer. Go over the edges and the surroundings of the cut-outs once more at the end, as that is where the material comes away most often.
An accessory for a plastic kit, not a model. The cut-outs of the part follow the Trumpeter 06717 kit and need not hit another one. You will not find a plastic model or paints in the package.
