A deck covering mask for the Japanese light cruiser Kashii in 1:700 scale is a pre-cut masking sheet for spraying the deck areas of the Aoshima 045435 plastic kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The product holds pre-cut covering masks for painting the deck of the plastic kit of the Japanese light cruiser Kashii. It is not a model, veneer or a decal. The mask is stuck on the plastic deck, a shade is sprayed over it, and once it is off a sharp edge remains exactly along the cut.
A cruiser in 1:700 scale is smaller than most battleships, so the pieces of the mask come out correspondingly finer. You cannot do without fine-tipped tweezers, and good light helps, ideally from the side, which shows whether the mask has seated everywhere. Lay the individual pieces out on a smooth mat before sticking them on and transfer them one at a time; taken off the sheet onto the bench they are easily lost, and there are no spares in the package.
With fine cut-outs, creep is the commonest problem, because the edge of the mask is short and the adhesive on it has little area. Once it is stuck on, go around the perimeter with the tip of a toothpick and seal the edges with a light coat of clear varnish or of the shade that is under the mask. Spray in thin coats and at right angles, never at an angle against the edge. Take the mask off with a draw at an angle before the paint has fully cured.
This is a masking accessory for a plastic kit, not a model. The paints, varnish and kit are not included in the package. The sheet is cut for the Aoshima 045435 kit; check the match before buying.
